F.A.Q.
Teeth Whitening
Your questions before and after treatment.
How is teeth whitening carried out at our clinic?
Teeth whitening aims to reduce discoloration of natural teeth. Our clinic provides laser teeth whitening. First, professional scaling removes plaque, surface stains and tartar. This is followed by a 30–45 minute whitening procedure.
How long does the whitening procedure take?
Laser whitening takes 30–45 minutes. Professional scaling is performed before the procedure.
Is professional scaling performed before whitening?
Yes. Before whitening, professional scaling removes plaque, surface stains and tartar.
Will fillings and crowns also become whiter?
Whitening works on natural teeth; it does not change the color of fillings and crowns in the same way.
Does it cause sensitivity?
Temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation may occur. Consult your dentist if you experience symptoms.
How many shades lighter will my teeth become?
This varies with the starting shade and the cause of discoloration. A specific shade or result cannot be guaranteed.
Are the effects of whitening permanent?
Discoloration may return over time. Oral care and habits that cause staining affect the result.
Is an examination needed before whitening?
Tooth and gum health and the cause of discoloration should be assessed. Existing decay, sensitivity and restorations may affect the choice of treatment.
How can I maintain the color after whitening?
Regular oral care and check-ups are important. Discuss habits that cause discoloration and personal care advice with your dentist. How long the effect lasts varies from person to person.
