F.A.Q.
Dental Implant Treatment
Your questions before and after treatment.
How many days does implant placement take?
At our clinic, implant placement is usually completed in a single day. Healing and crown fabrication are separate stages.
When does crown fabrication start after implant placement?
After approximately 3 months of healing, crown fabrication starts if the month 3 review confirms readiness. Bone condition and additional procedures can change this schedule.
Can extraction and implant placement be performed on the same day?
For suitable patients, extraction and implant placement can take place on the same day. The bone and treatment site are assessed through examination and necessary imaging.
What happens if there is infection or significant bone loss?
With significant bone loss or infection, healing for 4–6 months may be needed after necessary extraction and site cleaning before implant placement. The interval depends on the site’s recovery.
What is the follow-up schedule after implant placement?
At our clinic, stitches are usually removed in week 1, with a review in month 1. After approximately 3 months of healing, crown fabrication starts if the month 3 review confirms readiness. Bone condition and additional procedures can change this schedule.
How is an implant brand selected?
We use Osstem, Hiossen and Bego. Bone condition and the treatment plan are assessed; the patient and dentist choose among suitable options.
Can temporary teeth be provided during healing?
Temporary teeth are considered according to the treatment and bone condition. The same approach is not planned for every patient.
Which implant-supported restoration options are offered?
Options include zirconia, porcelain, titanium-bar-supported zirconia, and screw-retained zirconia or porcelain systems. The appropriate option is determined by the prosthetic plan.
Are bone grafting and sinus lift procedures available?
Yes, bone grafting and sinus lift procedures are performed at our clinic. The need and method are determined after examination and necessary imaging.
Can everyone have dental implants?
No. Bone and gum health, general medical conditions and medicines being taken must be assessed.
Are implants guaranteed for life?
Lifetime results cannot be guaranteed. Oral care, smoking, health conditions and check-ups affect the outcome.
