F.A.Q.
Zirconia / E-max / Laminate Veneers
Your questions before and after treatment.
How long does crown fabrication take?
Crown fabrication is usually completed in approximately 1–1.5 weeks. Preliminary treatment or gums needing to heal may delay the process.
How do you choose between zirconia, E-max and veneers?
Treatment planning requires a dental examination and necessary X-ray assessment. Treatment is selected according to the teeth’s condition and the patient’s needs.
When are temporary teeth fitted while crowns are being made?
After tooth preparation for crowns, temporary teeth are usually fitted the same day or the next day.
Are the crown’s colour and shape chosen with the patient?
Tooth colour and shape are considered together with the patient. The final plan accounts for clinical limits and the bite (occlusion).
What is a zirconia crown?
It is a dental crown made from zirconia-based ceramic. It may be considered to restore a tooth’s shape and function. It is not suitable for every tooth; the remaining tooth tissue and bite are assessed during the examination.
Is a zirconia crown or another type of crown suitable?
Material is selected according to the tooth’s location, bite forces, remaining tooth tissue and cosmetic expectations. The advantages and limitations of the options are explained during the examination.
Is tooth tissue removed for veneers?
Many veneer procedures involve preparing the tooth by removing some tooth tissue. The amount removed and whether the procedure is reversible should be discussed during the examination.
